John Priscu Awarded ASLO Sustaining Fellow

The MCM LTER congratulates co-PI Dr. John C. Priscu, who was recently honored as a Sustaining Fellow by the Association of Limnology and Oceanography in the 2017 class of ASLO Fellows. ASLO Sustaining Fellows are recognized as having sustained excellence in their contributions to ASLO and the aquatic sciences.

The ASLO Fellows program was initiated in 2015 to honor those ASLO members who have consistently volunteered their time and efforts in ASLO’s publications, conferences, and governance. Since then, ASLO has initiated more than 75 Fellows, and this year we welcome another 34 members as the 2017 class of ASLO Fellows. The commitment and service of ASLO Fellows have enabled our society to advance the sciences of limnology and oceanography.

All ASLO Fellows will be honored at both of the 2018 conferences. We will host a champagne toast in their honor at 5pm on Tuesday, February 13 at the Ocean Sciences Meeting in 2018. We will also acknowledge Fellows at the 2018 Summer Meeting in Victoria, just ahead of the ASLO Business Meeting on Monday, June 11. Please plan to join us to honor the individuals who keep ASLO programs going strong!

More information about the Fellows program, including qualifications and application form can be found on the ASLO website. Please nominate colleagues or self-nominate so that appropriate recognition can be made. A list of all ASLO Fellows can be viewed online
