Lake Chad is in the Lake Hoare basin, Taylor Valley, west of Lake Hoare and east of the Suess Glacier. Wharton, House and McKay streams flow from the Suess Glacier directly into Lake Chad and then the overflow from Lake Chad flows into Lake Hoare.
